Pope’s Visit: Pope Benedict XVI led an ecumenical prayer service for national and local Christian leaders at St. Joseph’s Church Yorkville on Friday, April 18, as part of his Christ Our Hope: Apostolic Journey to the United States. During his six-day visit to the United States, the Holy Father celebrated Mass at Yankee Stadium and addressed the seminarians and youth at St. Joseph’s Seminary, Dunwoodie. | Papal Visit Newsletter |
| 8/12/2008 12:40:59 PM |
Papal Visit Newsletter: To commemorate the Holy Father’s visit, the students compiled a collection of essays, short articles, and artwork. Students wrote about their impression of the Papal Visit; what they have learned about the Pope; the impact that they hope the Pope will have on them; a pledge of Christian service in honor of the Pope Benedict XVI’s birthday; or a related theme regarding the Pope's visit. Two eighth graders had their essays posted on the Archdiocese of New York website.
Thank you to Susan Winn for publishing the newsletter. The newsletter is available in the file cabinet or click here to download the newsletter.

| Novena Prayer |

|
As you were called to be the guardian
Of Jesus and Mary,
So we are called to be guardians of the holy,
To nurture what is divine:
God’s grace in our hearts
And in earthly incidents and surroundings
Where the life of Jesus continues.
Joseph, faithful and true,
Help us to know and to do God’s will
As it is revealed in the depths of our being
And in the events of our lives,
Confident that in the maze of our times
We are never left to walk alone.
Amen.
